Sure, when we drink we get to numb out a bit and 'relax'. But the thing about alcohol is that it doesn't just numb selectively, you also numb joy, happiness, pleasure. Imagine creating a life that doesn't need an escape hatch? I know how amazing life can be when we are in control instead of alcohol.
